The US tech employment market was mixed in May, with technology companies shedding 4,725 jobs, according to US Bureau of Labor Statistics figures analysed by industry group CompTIA. However, the total number of technology jobs across the economy rose by 45,000. There were also falls in job postings for open tech positions, down from 300,000 in April to 234,000. Despite this, the number of technology workers looking for jobs dropped from 2.1% to 2% last month. The most in-demand roles among tech job postings included software developers and engineers, along with IT project managers, data analysts and support specialists.
